Data Deletion Policy

At Obvious, we respect your right to control your personal data. This policy explains how you can request deletion of your data and what happens when you do.

How to Delete Your Data

Method 1: In-App Deletion (Recommended)

  1. Open the Obvious app
  2. Go to your Profile screen
  3. Tap "Delete Account"
  4. Confirm your decision

This is the fastest method and deletion begins immediately.

Method 2: Email Request

If you cannot access your account, send an email to support@obvious.app with:

Response time: We will respond within 7 business days and complete deletion within 30 days.

In certain circumstances, we may retain limited information:

Legal Requirements

We may retain data if required by law, for fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or to enforce our Terms of Service. This is rare and only happens when legally necessary.

Anonymized Analytics

Aggregated, anonymized data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for analytics purposes (e.g., "100 users voted on this question"). This data does not identify you personally.

After Deletion

Your data is gone permanently. This means:
